Hi! My name is Samantha Crupi, and I am so excited to join the school community as a school-based counselor! I earned my Master’s degree in Clinical Counseling from Alvernia University along with a bachelor’s degree in psychology. I believe that everyone deserves to feel heard, understood, and supported. My goal is to create a safe and welcoming space where students can come in and talk through challenges, celebrate successes and accomplishments. and most importantly, feel comfortable being themselves.
My counseling approach is person-centered, I meet clients where they’re at to build trust based and rapport. I also frequently incorporate aspects of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) to help students develop healthy coping strategies, emotional regulation, mindfulness, and effective communication. I also enjoy incorporating art therapy into counseling as well, because I believe that sometimes expressing our thoughts and feelings creatively can be easier when words are harder to find or express.
I am passionate about working with children and adolescents, especially when it comes to helping them recognize how unique and strong they are. Helping children and adolescents realize that asking for help is a strength. I look forward to getting to know each student, building meaningful relationships, and being someone they can turn to when they need someone to listen, need help working through challenges, and providing as much support as I can along the way. I want to instill hope and strength into each of my students, supporting them as they grow, learn and navigate their journeys.
