Charlie Anspach

“Relationship is a very deliberate effort and requires we always keep our hand on the rudder. It is very rewarding to watch marriages and individuals heal and grow and to help people recognize they are valuable and that their feelings matter.”

Hello! My name is Charlie Anspach. Life experiences influence how I help others. I believe getting to know yourself helps you know and love others.

I am a systemic thinker who uses various collaborative and relational approaches in therapy including emotion-focused therapy (EFT), Gottman marriage principles, attachment theory, internal family systems (IFS), and family of origin, to name a few.

I received a Bachelor of Science in Public Policy from Penn State University Harrisburg and a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy at Evangelical Seminary. I am a licensed marriage and family therapist (MFT) and have been working with families, couples, and individuals for 15 years. I am also a certified sex therapy informed professional (CSTIP).

Over the years, I have worked in school, home, and community settings. I currently work virtually or from the Restore Counseling office. I work with couples on relational concerns, parenting, co-parenting, and marriage enrichment. I also work with individual concerns related to relationship distress, depression, grief, anxiety, and life issues in general. I focus on strong rapport, interrupting negative cycles, listening, and understanding the story and creating a new narrative.

Prior to becoming a therapist, I spent 27 years in the construction industry as an electrician. I am a retired Army officer from the Pennsylvania Army National Guard. When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my wife, adult children, and 7 grandchildren.

I look forward to working with you!
