Hello! My name is Rachel Gerety. I received my bachelor’s in psychology at Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado and my master’s in social work at the University of Denver in Denver, Colorado. I have experience in an outpatient mental health facility, where I worked with many different populations, such as children, teens and adults. Through that experience, I had the opportunity to work with those who struggle with depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, suicidal ideation, behavioral issues, trauma, and many others.
As a Social Worker/Therapist, my goal is to offer support to those I work with, providing understanding and compassion without judgment. I collaborate with clients on their journey towards self-discovery and growth, offering steadfast support whenever they need an extra hand along the way. The practices I utilize include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, active listening, and, what I find most important, strengths-based approach. People from all backgrounds, particularly young teens, need to be reminded of their strength and potential, as it’s easy to overlook them when life becomes challenging.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my husband, roaming farmers markets, watching movies, and volunteering at my church’s youth group. I am so excited to walk beside you and be that extra support that will remind you of your capability and strength.
