Jim Cox

Hi I’m Jim! I am a licensed professional counselor and graduated from Loyola University with a Master of Science in clinical counseling in 2016. I am a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP), specializing in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). I have worked in numerous settings such as the foster care system, traditional outpatient, and school-based therapy. I have worked with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, PTSD and complex PTSD, relationship conflict, trauma, anger issues, and suicidal ideations to name a few.

My interests include complex trauma, parenting, depression, anxiety, diversity issues, grief, and teenagers struggling to survive in this world. I am educated in using an eclectic therapeutic approach to meet clients where they are in their journey.

I see myself as a therapist who walks alongside my clients instead of one who leads. I believe in treating all with unconditional positive regard and providing a place of safety for clients so they can begin their journey towards healing.
